“The unselfish effort to bring cheer to others will be the beginning of a happier life for ourselves.” — Helen Keller
“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.” — William Shakespeare
Our volunteers come from all walks of life, all ages, all backgrounds. Whether it's reading to a patient, helping with an activity, doing an art project or just sitting and talking, our volunteers provide invaluable services that contribute to the comfort and well being of our patients.
A very special program that we offer is the "We Honor Veterans" program. Emblem Hospice has partnered with the Department of Veterans Affairs in our joint mission to provide quality services through the end of life for our Nation's Veterans. We provide volunteer "veteran to veteran" services that may include a special recognition "pinning" to honor their service and sacrifices for our country.
This is our wonderful volunteer, Dave Falkner, Lt. Col. - Ret., honoring patient Dick Rhilinger for his brave military service with a handmade quilt.
Emblem welcomes all applicants without regard to race, color, religion, creed, gender, national origin, age, disability, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, or any other legally protected status.
